The only difference between a Nazi German K98 and a Zastava M98/48 consists of the markings and the front barrel band, besides that they are virtually identical to each other, since they are the same rifle. Since vast quantities of parts were available, the Yugoslavian arms industry could refurbish these rifles and made them operational. These German K98 rifles were either captured by Yugoslavian partisan’s or left over in vast amounts throughout Europe and patriated by the Yugoslavians for use in their post WW2 military and police. The bands will also fit other WWII era Mauser K98s of course.
